Music Ministry
Music is so integral in the life of the PCWS congregation, in worship as well as in other areas of activity in the life of our church. Both choral and instrumental participation are active components of our music ministry. Read on!

Chancel Choir – rehearses every Thursday, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.; also rehearses at 8:30 a.m. prior to the services we sing in worship (usually three times a month); youth through adult

Handbell Choir – rehearses every Wednesday, 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.; plays in worship approximately once a month; youth through adult

Instrumental ensembles – brass, string, woodwind, percussion players (youth through adult) as scheduled for a specific worship occasion

Bethlehem Choir – rehearses every Thursday, 5:30–6:15 p.m., November through May, kindergarten through second grade; sings in worship approximately once a month

God’s Children Sing - an opportunity for parents and young children to enjoy making music together from 11:00-11:25 on Sunday mornings. The songs and musical games are especially for children ages 2-5, but younger or older children are welcome.

We sing and ring God’s praises, spanning the centuries of music composition. This might include a classic of choral/handbell literature, some southern gospel, a Latin prayer, a hymn tune with embellishments, as well as contemporary compositions by many of today’s highly respected composers. We welcome new singers and ringers most warmly! Speak with our music ministry staff about sharing your gift of music with our church and we will help you find a place to share your musical talent!

Contact: Alison Siener Brown by calling the church office. Music in the summer months (June, July and August) continues with soloists and small ensembles, giving our choirs a well-deserved rest.
